Location: Coshocton County, Ohio

Description: Remediated 81 acres of abandoned surface mine site by backfilling the existing highwalls with 1.3 million cubic yards of adjacent mine spoils. At peak production CCU moved over 300,000 cubic yards per month using a fleet of D11 bull dozers and 657 scrappers. The project also included installation of 1.5 miles of concrete channel lining and 64 acres of tree planting. CCU finished this project in eight months, three months ahead of schedule.
