Shugert North AML Enhancement

Location: Union Township, Belmont County, Ohio

Description: The largest AML contract in the history of Ohio, CCU not only provided the design for the project but performed the construction as well. The project reclaimed approximately 3 miles of pre-law mining highwall by utilizing 2.1 million cubic yards of adjacent mine spoil to backfill the pre-law highwall, creating over 130 acres of pastureland. The project was completed in twenty months, four months ahead of schedule.
