House of Jacob Highwall

Location: Keene Township, Coshocton County, Ohio

Description: Remediation of two surface mine sites by eliminating dangerous highwalls, refuse piles, and pit impoundments. Construction utilized 225,000 cubic yards of earthwork to backfill 5,000 linear feet of highwall to create 40 acres of wildlife habitat. Over 3,000 tons of aggregate were used to create stream channels throughout the project. Project also included widening of 1,800 linear feet of road leading into the project.
