Location: Conesville, Ohio

Description: Construction and capping of a CCR landfill with Fly Ash and FGD material from the retired AEP Conesville powerplant. Over 3,800,000 million cubic yards of CCR material were placed in the landfill prior to capping. Upon reaching the maximum airspace within the CCR landfill, capping of the 40 acre landfill began. Capping activities included excavating almost a mile of anchor trench, placing 3.5 million square feet of liner, constructing over 2 miles of an integrated drainage system, and capping the landfill with 170,000 cubic yards of topsoil before revegetating.
